Hieroglyphic

I am sure almost everybody heard about hieroglyphic that was the form of written language that was used by some ancient civilizations and by Egypt in particular. Some of them can't be decoded even today.

Hieroglyphic uses the pictures the original views of which are hard to tell. In fact some of them hide the image that was the base of their formation. The typical constructive elements appear in hieroglyphs that are repeated in different signs. Probably the reason for it was the desire of people to make the writing of the message simpler and to simplify the study of writing.

However, hieroglyphic still kept the main disadvantage. It had nothing to do with the pronounced word. In the result the written and oral languages were developing apart not depending one from another.

There were also problems with languages that changed the forms of the word in dependence on the syntactical role of it in the sentence, so people who used hieroglyphic had to add special elements to hieroglyphs to understand the meaning of the word during reading. This made writing and reading even more difficult.

But despite all disadvantages hieroglyphic was used by many ancient civilizations as working method of writing and communications. Sometimes hieroglyphs were developed and changed so much that they were not decoded till nowadays although thousands of people were working on them during many centuries. The most famous and interesting hieroglyphs are those used by Egyptians that are famous decorations for every-day life.
